We are both from the Louisville Kentucky area. Scott was born in and lived most of his life in Louisville. Paula is technically from Jeffersonville Indiana but it's close enough that it might as well be Louisville. We met in 2012 and Paula was intrigued when Scott showed her a picture of him holding an octopus while diving in Hawaii. After dating a number of months, Scott floated the idea of learning to sail to be able to charter sailboats for vacation in the Caribbean with the long term goal of living on a boat in the Caribbean for a few years when we retired. She of course thought he must have been smoking crack. The initial comment was "That's not something people with regular jobs can afford to do."
